NeverBounce

NeverBounce is an email verification and list cleaning service that helps businesses validate email addresses, remove invalid or risky contacts, and improve email deliverability. It helps reduce bounce rates and protect sender reputation for marketing and outreach campaigns.

Verify email

Verify email is a NeverBounce enrichment that checks whether an email address is valid and deliverable. Returns a result code and a set of flags with additional detail about the address and domain.

Account

Select a Coldout-managed account to use shared credits, or add your own account by clickingAdd account in the dropdown and entering a connection name and your API key. Your credentials are encrypted and can be removed at any time. You can manage all connected accounts — add new ones or remove existing ones — from the settings.

Required inputs
  • Email — the email address to verify (e.g. john.smith@neverbounce.com).
Result codes
  • valid — verified as a real, active address.
  • invalid — verified as not a valid address.
  • disposable — a temporary, disposable address.
  • catchall — a domain-wide accept-all setting, also known as accept-all. Cannot be individually verified.
  • unknown — the mail server could not be reached within the timeout period.
Flags

Flags provide additional information discovered about the address and domain during verification:

  • has_dns — the domain has one or more DNS records.
  • has_dns_mx — the domain has mail exchanger (MX) DNS records configured.
  • bad_syntax — the input does not appear to be a valid email format.
  • free_email_host — the email is registered on a free mail provider (e.g. yahoo.com, hotmail.com).
  • role_account — the address is role-based (e.g. admin@, help@, sales@).
  • disposable_email — the address is a disposable email.
  • government_host — the address is on a government domain.
  • academic_host — the address is on an academic domain.
  • military_host — the address is on a military domain.
  • international_host — the domain uses an internationally designated domain name.
  • squatter_host — the domain appears to impersonate a well-known provider (a type of spam trap).
  • spelling_mistake — the address appears to contain a spelling mistake.
  • bad_dns — the domain has bad DNS records.
  • temporary_dns_error — a temporary DNS error was encountered during verification.
  • connect_fails — unable to connect to the remote mail server.
  • accepts_all — the remote host accepts mail at any address.
  • contains_alias — the address contains both an address part and an alias part (using +).
  • contains_subdomain — the host contains a subdomain.
  • smtp_connectable — a connection to the remote mail server was successfully established.
  • spamtrap_network — the host is affiliated with a known spam trap network.
  • historical_response — the result was generated using a historical data algorithm rather than live verification.
Run condition

Optionally control when this enrichment runs using a formula. Describe the formula you want in plain text and click "Generate", or write your own using column references. The enrichment will only run if the formula resolves to true.

Auto-update

When enabled, the enrichment will automatically re-run whenever its input values change, keeping results up to date without manual action.

Save recipe

Clicking "Save recipe" saves all current input values as a reusable recipe. Recipes let you predefine configurations — including account, inputs, and run conditions — so you can quickly apply them to any table. All saved recipes will be available to select directly from the enrich popup.
